"If it's not in the media, then nobody would know about these cases. I think because of pressure from the media, these new laws have been enforced. So we are really thankful to the media for this," she added.
"We haven't been able to protect women and children of our country and I have been reading about such kind of crimes on a daily basis in newspapers."
On Sudhir Mishra's directorial "Daas Dev", Mallika said: "I have seen the trailer of the movie. I am a fan of Sudhir Mishra's films and I love him as a director." On her upcoming projects, the "Murder" actress said: "There is one international show, of which I have acquired legal rights to remake in India... The unthinkable has happened. A hollywood release has smashed all hindi films in line to have the biggest opening of 2018 as of now. Yes ! its true Marvel's Avengers Infinity War which has released today has reportedly taken a huge opening on the account of the massive advance booking it saw over the week. The advance was so huge that it crossed the levels of Salman Khan's film Tiger Zinda Hai, It was only second to Baahubali - The Conclusion. If the morning reports are to go by, the film has already beaten the opening of Padmaavat and Baaghi 2 and it remains to be seen how it ends up during the day.
A Hollywood release getting such a huge opening speaks volumes as how Indian audiences over the years have lapped up western superheroes in big order. And this is when the film has only released on 2000 screens which it could have gone onto around 4000 screens. The film's performance has also affected the releases of hold up movies like October, Rampage which had been doing decent at the box office. As for Abhay deol his film 'Nanu ki Janu' has flopped already and debutante Ishaan Khatter's film 'Beyond the Clouds' is a disaster.
