Sushant Singh Rajput might not be enjoying the best of his time. While most of the movies do not have a release date, one of his most anticipated film 'Drive' that was supposed to be released in September has been pushed from to indefinite date. While this may not be a news to many, one thing that is surprising to most is that the official site of Dharma Productions still feature 'Drive' as their upcoming movie but the date mentioned there is '7th September 2018'.
The past reports suggest that Karan Johar who was the producer of the film was not happy with the final product even when the film is almost ready. The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani of 'Dostana' Fame. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez. Drive is an Important project for Rajput as this is the first time he would be venturing into 'Dharma Productions' but things doesn't seem too sweet. As of the film's IMDB page, the release date has now been pushed to 2019 indefinite date. There is no buzz for the film, no announcements, trailers or anything some sources even say the film might get stuck in development hell.
If that was not enough, his other two films 'Kedarnath' and 'Chanda Mama Door Ke' also do not show any signs of having released this year. The latter's case is even worse while Kedarnath's shooting has been completed while 'Chanda Mama Door Ke' seems to have gone in the development hell. Adding to the misery, controversies of Sushant throwing attitude on the sets of 'Kizie aur Manny' are doing the rounds, however the director has denied the allegations. But despite all these troubles and hardships one can't deny that Sushant is an extremely dedicated and talented actor who made on its own in the film industry coming from the 'not so progressive' Indian Television. We only hope that Sushant Singh Rajput shall get over all this mess and rise like a phoenix. Best Wishes !

Now that THE MEG has released and winning the box office and hearts, as a fan I can't be more happier. Although like many fans I was also a bit disappointed that the film does not stay true as an adaptation of Steve Alten's classic but then again, certain changes are always required to raise the stakes of a film, especially when there is so much of money involved. In that case, we should end up feeling happy with what we got. The MEG has become an unexpected success which people didn't even Imagine before the release. It's obvious from here that the film has opened its way to many sequels for which we can't wait.
However, after watching the film, a thought came to my mind that had stuck by my head for so long. As much as I enjoyed the action adventure flick in the theater, I imagined a total new version of the film courtesy my fantasy with the Megalodon. Now before I begin, let me just clarify that my post doesn't mess up with the idea of the film. It's just an opinion I would like to share. I don't know if its possible if someone someday possibly works upon an idea similar to this, I think it would be wonderful.
While THE MEG is originally a thriller which moves with a fast pace. My idea of THE MEG is a bit subtle. For instance, I am really fascinated by the idea of a Giant Shark. Considering such a huge shark it is, I wish that someday makers will explore the idea of its size beyond the ocean. If a Megalodon shows up in the ocean with such a huge fin the sight itself shall be fascinating (take a look at the fan poster above). The fan just brings alive the excitement, terror and nail biting experience one can go through while looking at such a HUGE fin but of course in the movies, it just ends up by saying 'ITS A SHARK..SHARK...SHARK and the shark attacks follow. I wish the makers would take this idea into consideration and explore it properly. It's not like the shark is looking out to attack.
Secondly, we are fascinated by the stories that are told to us during childhood about Mega Giant Sharks attacking huge ships. Of course it has been done in movies but not in the way it should, Imagine if there is a huge ship that is carrying a big number of travelers and in the middle of the ocean, A Megalodon attacks the ship from beneath the ocean, you can't Imagine the terror. This would make a great survival film in itself, again referring to the fan poster above. But the experience should be frighteningly real. We are not talking about a syfy giant sharks that are capable of doing anything. Even if Megalodon is fiction, it has the potential to become a great reality
And lastly Instead of just showing the shark as a villian or a monster, the makers should also think of showcasing its beauty. Oceans are absolutely gorgeous filled with stunning creatures. The fascination of a Giant Shark inside an ocean shall fill you with excitement. The scales, the gills, the fins and even the tooth, they would make an absolute delightful experience. Such kind of a sincerity and soberness regarding the subject must be adapted by filmmakers someday. Because its very easy to show a Giant Shark killing people and kill it in the end. The Question is...What more and beyond!

There are some good films and there are some bad films. There is no such thing as middle order. So at the end its always your choice which category you want to place your favourite movie in. We are talking about 'A Gentleman' here. A huge box office bomb, this film wasn't actually that bad it was projected to be. Urmm.. you can put up the movie in 'Good category' if you want to, well we have our reasons for that. Sure, not everything was perfect with the film. The film wasn't promoted in the right manner second, Jacqueline Fernandez was a horrible choice (sorry but this is a fact) third, the environment was also not peaceful when the film released. Worse, Sidharth Malhotra got into a soup and trolled for his tweets he made during that time. The film although did find some appreciation from critics, it went flat at the Box office. Still despite all this, we give five reasons why A Gentleman remains to be a special film for the fans.
1. Interesting Trailer : When the trailer was out, it was received very well by fans and audiences alike. The story didn't give too much apart from the fact that Sidharth Malhotra was playing a double - a simpleton from one side and on the other an Action Junkie. Ram or Shyam, Judwaa anyone? the trailer did look exciting for sure. However, the makers couldn't capitalize on the buzz followed.
2. Sid looks HOT : one thing the film did get right was Sidharth's looks. Since he was playing a double role and a timeline that was following both the characters of Gaurav and Rishi side by side. It was Important to show the range of diversity between the characters. While Gaurav keeps it plain, It's Rishi that wins you over with his greek god like looks. Everyone knows how good looking Sidharth is, and with this film he pitches his game higher. Don't believe us ! Check out this scene from the movie. Happy Drooling !
3. Slick Action : A Gentleman had some of the best choreographed action scenes in our opinion. The fights had an International feel. Whenever Sid would punch a guy you can't stop yourself but appreciate the level of action this film is willing to go. Alas ! Unlike the action, the script did not have much of meat to hold the audiences which again proves how Important content is to have a film work.
4. Sachin Jigar's music : Sachin Jigar's music was one of the highlights of the movie. It was hugely underrated when it released. Two songs really stand out from the album. No we are not talking about 'bandhook meri laila' we know its a fan favourite but not a great number. The numbers that really work well are 'Baat Ban Jaye' and 'Laagi Na Choote'. Even otherwise, it's really a decent album and one shouldn't mind keeping it in favourite collections.
5. Sidharth's chemistry with Hussain : If anyone watched the movie, you can just not forget the hilarious scenes between Sid and Hussain Dalal who plays Gaurav's troubled friend Dixit. He brings the house down at multiple occasions and manages to tickle your bones. He is one talent that Bollywood should use often.
so these are our reasons on why we feel The Gentleman is a classy movie. If you have more reasons to give. Please feel free to comment below. We welcome your feedback.
