Rakhi Sawant has been in the news lately for her shocking revelations regarding her rape and molestation done by Tanushree Dutta and even referring her as a 'Lesbian'. Rakhi has gone to the extent of saying that Tanushree had gone bald to get her love in which she failed. As shocking as he revelations can get, but we wonder if her allegations can be taken really seriously when her own friends and colleagues tell a different story.
A promo for a talk show has surfaced where item girl 'Sambhavana Seth' has alleged that Rakhi called herself and Sambhavana both 'Lesbians' at her birthday party to which the former had objected. She also said that Rakhi is a different personality when she is off the camera but she changes totally once she is infront of media. She shouts for attention and nothing else. Well this is quite a revelation ! If Ms Sawant is herself a 'Lesbian' why is she making a fuss out of a love affair with a former colleague and calling it a rape.
We don't know if Rakhi is wrong or right but she's definitely gone to a new low by making a joke out of the most horrendous thing called 'Rape'. An evil that scars an individual for life, Rakhi was so casual in presenting herself as a rape victim as if she was on a film set. Her entire body language seeks attention and publicity and given the fact she did both the conferences to give so called 'mooh tod' jawab to Tanushree Dutta, she never really bothers about her image or reputation. so why would others care.. Anyways this is for 'Janta Janadhan' to decide

Mahesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films collaborated with newcomers 'Varun Mitra' and 'Rhea Chakraborthy' for an Interesting premise. Vishesh Films is famous for launching new comers and with an unusual title like 'Jalebi'. It was expected to do wonders. But Alas! The film tanked without a trace. Neither the film nor the leading actors could send any strong Impression on the audiences. People just didn't turn up to watch the film and instead went for 'Andhadun' and 'Badhaai Ho'.
While a failing of a film is no big deal, the disappointment comes for the aspiring actors who arrive in Mumbai coming from different background and try their luck in the showbiz zone. And when they get a chance to feature in a film production helmed by some of the most popular filmmakers of Bollywood, it's almost a dream come true. But in Bollywood, dreams do not come true by acting in films. Every film is your last film at the end of the day. If its a HIT you are often flooded with offers, If it flops, your journey to find another work begins again.
Which brings us back to Jalebi. The film has tanked and being forgotten but what does it mean for its leading stars Varun and Rhea? A Trade Analyst on the basis of anonymity tells us that a film depends on a lot of factors to work, and especially its far more challenging with two new leading actors. Not just the film itself, but the campaigning, marketing and promotions of the film should be in order so that the actors get enough coverage before the film releases. And if its a love story, the music also plays a very big factor. People were hardly aware of Jalebi's music.
When these things work wonderfully, you are all set for a good release. And then comes the content of the film, if the content is really engaging the film shall become a SMASH HIT and the newcomers are likely to be loved by the audience. He also gave examples of films like 'Qayamat se Qayamat Tak' 'Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai' and the recently released 'Dhadak' starring newcomers that offered great entertainment value. All these films were packaged so well and engaging enough to become HITS. Jalebi was a half baked attempt and the makers were just thinking of making some money out of its small budget if it works but we all know that doesn't work. Even if the content of the film were good, the promotions and marketing were so poor that half of the audiences were unaware of it.
Concluding the debate, we went back to our main question about the struggle of aspiring actors, the analyst then said that it's indeed not easy to get featured in a cinematic film for a newcomer these days, so even an offer like 'Jalebi' shall look enticing. But it's Important to wait for the right launchpad instead, because once your launch gets right, you will sustain anyhow. He cited the example of Sidharth Malhotra's success by saying Sidharth did the right thing by waiting for a right launch. Although the right age to debut in films is in early 20's and Sid made his debut at the age of 28 in Karan Johar's Student of The Year, the results were far better enough. There was no looking back for him and today he is one of bollywood's promising faces. Even though some of his past films have not worked, people still want to sign him as in demand. As a new comer, he has also struggled but patience and focus is the biggest vitality of the hour.
So does that mean films like 'Jalebi' cannot do wonders? The analyst said 'Of Course' they can but the content, promotion, marketing music, cast all matters. Vishesh films is the same production which gave a big hit like 'Fareb' with three newcomers 'Faraaz Khan' 'Suman Rangnathan and 'Milind Gunaji' all three later disappeared while the latter seen in few television serials and films. It's all depends on the prospects. But one should not give up. Hard work is the recipe one must keep trying, it's available free of costs.
10/20/2018 0 Comments 6 Years of Varun Dhawan
19th of October marks the six year milestone completion of Bollywood Superstar Varun Dhawan. Beginning his career with Karan Johar's 'Student of The Year', Dhawan took bollywood by storm with his debut. His acting along with his dancing skills were majorly appreciated by the youth. He became the ultimate bollywood sensation and there was no looking back for him.
But just a hit debut can't always do wonders. A couple of bad movie choices are your career is gone. We have witnessed this with many actors earlier. What requires is consistency in your performances and keep your audience engaged. Varun made no mistake and joined hands with his father for an out and out entertainer 'Main Tera Hero'. The film was a major success and Varun's career saw another high.
He maintained his success by doing films like 'ABCD 2' and 'Dilwale'. While ABCD 2 became a massive Hit. Dilwale proved to be a semi-hit (a success nevertheless). Dilwale did good for Varun however it was a disappointment for King Khan fans as the expectations were very high from this film. However, this only pushed Varun's career to a better position.
Despite giving back to back successes, there was something missing in Dhawan's career. He was criticized for playing the same goofy characters and this did make even Varun wonder that if he would restrict himself to a comedy hero something which was suitable for 90's. To break this mould, Varun did Badlapur and everyone thought it was a risk. The film was adult rated, extremely brutal, had a shocking rape scene and many violent scenes. But to everyone's surprise, the movie was a smash-hit and Varun took home the accolades. This achievement had made Dhawan proud and confident that he can pull various roles with conviction.
By now, Varun Dhawan had become bollywood's HIT machine by giving back to back success with 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania' 'Judwaa 2' 'Badrinath ki Dulhania' and 'Dishoom'. All these films were commercial entertainers and did well. Varun secured a record of not giving a single flop in his career. While this achievement is no less great feat for any actor. It has started to put pressure on Varun as an actor.
Believing in his versatility and now bowing down to the pressure of giving hits, Varun collaborated with Director Shoojit Sircar for film 'October'. A beautifully carved (if a little slow) with Varun a genuinely heart warming character displaying feelings of true love on celluloid. October established Dhawan again as one of the finest actors we have today. October's box office performance has been a debate since long. The movie opened slow, then picked up then went downhill and then picked up again but whatever, the outcome is, it was a success and definitely not a failure, and the major chunk for this feat goes to Varun's star power because let's face it, October would have find really tough having commercial success with any other actor given its plot.
Another film which clearly banked on Varun's star power was Sui-Dhaaga. Even though the film was well received with critics, it didn't become audience favourite. Despite doing wonderful in week one, it slowed down heavily in week two. Trade believes that it was Varun's charm that made the movie a success as he has become the love of the masses and the public trusts him otherwise Sui Dhaaga would have found it very tough. The film was slow and the pairing of Dhawan with Anushka (who looks odd and acts oddly equally) didn't impress the audience either Yet, the film concluded with a happy ending and that was all because of Dhawan's pull into theaters.
With the upcoming lineup of Varun Dhawan with films like 'Kalank' and 'ABCD 3' with Katrina Kaif, it's safe to assume that Varun is going to keep his successful record secure at the box office thus receiving love from his audiences. He is also a big name in the world of Brands. Not to mention that currently he is one of the highest paid actors today and it's a milestone definitely not easy to achieve in the span of six years. Here's wishing Varun all the best for the bright future.
